Three credits of science are required for students to graduate from high school. At least two of those credits need to be earned in a lab science course. The third credit is based on the students' High School and Beyond Plan. The Accelerated Science Pathway ensures that students have met the Washington State Science Learning Standards prior to taking the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science at the end of 11th grade.
Students that choose the Accelerated Science Pathway will take Biology in the 9th grade and at least two other advanced science courses prior to graduation.
